There is a common belief that if you travel to another country you will be able to speak there and speak their language. While this may be true to a certain degree, I would like to give a more realistic explanation of why you should travel to the land of the living.
As a society we have a lot of cultural ties and cultural differences between countries. This means that we often have a few cultural norms that we may not like or respect, and if you are traveling to another country you should adhere to those and be aware of what the cultural background will be. Traveling to a country in which people are not used to communicating in their own language is going to present some interesting challenges.
We all speak English, but not all languages are created equal. There are some words that we don’t really want to describe, so what do we do with them? For example, in China, if you say “Chinese food” or “Chinese people” it could be considered offensive to the Chinese and they can be offended by you. The best way to deal with this is to just not use those words.
Instead of writing down the names of every country you pass, we give you the names of the countries, but those names are optional. We don’t want to give you the hard-to-remember names like Spain, China, India, or Australia.
